Township Committee Thanks Volunteers, Employees

The Mayor and Township Committee issued several proclamations at the April meeting to thank residents and employees for their exemplary service to the community.

National Volunteer Week April 21-29, 2013
The Mayor and Township Committee proclaimed April 21-29, 2013 as National Volunteer Week and expressed their gratitude to many residents who volunteer their time to a wide variety of community programs, emergency service organizations including the all-volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services Department and nearly two dozen boards, committees and commissions.

Municipal Clerk’s Week May 5-11, 2013
Municipal Clerks Week has been proclaimed by the Mayor and Township Committee as May 5-11, 2013 in appreciation for the vital services municipal clerks and deputy clerks perform and their exemplary dedication to the communities they represent. 

Heidi R. Brunt has served as Middletown’s Municipal Clerk, since September 2003 and has been a member of International Institute of Municipal Clerks since October of 2003. Mrs. Brunt is available throughout the year to speak at schools, organizations, and different scouting troops about local government, Township Committee meetings, and election. During the week of May 5, 2013 tours in the Clerk’s office will be available please call the week before to schedule 732-615-2015 or townclerk@middletownnj.org .

 

Monmouth County Joint Insurance Safety Award
The Township Committee acknowledged an award from the Monmouth Municipal Joint Insurance Funds Executive Safety Committee for the township’s dedication and exemplary safety performance after Hurricane Sandy. Assistant Township Administrator Jim Van Nest noted no major injuries occurred as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

Police Week May 12-18, 2013
The Township Committee proclaimed May 12- 18, 2013 as Police Week in Middletown Township in recognition of the vital public service the Police Department provides. The Police Department will offer tours of headquarters during this week and hold a Memorial Service at the Middletown Police Memorial during this week.

 

National Day of Pray 2013
The Mayor and Township Committee also issued a proclamation declaring May 2, 2013 as a Day of Prayer in Middletown Township. The National Day of Prayer is an opportunity for Americans of all faiths to join in prayer to give thanks for blessings received, to request healing for wounds endured and to ask God to guide our leaders and brings harmony to the United States and her citizens. In 1988, legislation setting aside the first Thursday in May annually as National Day of Prayer was passed unanimously by both Houses of Congress and signed by President Ronald Reagan.
